Rule 8
Condition of Return of Insured Goods

The post concerned shall return the insured goods to the sender in the following cases:-

(a) If the addressee does not take delivery within 10 days from the date of notification of arrival of the insured goods, or
(b) If the addressee refuses to take the insured item or if the addressee cannot be found to give correct delivery or if the addressee dies and the delivery cannot take place,
(c) If the addressee leaves the place of residence without prior notice or goes to another place or moves to the jurisdiction of the post office that does not have the authority to deliver the insured item, if the insured item cannot be delivered without the addressee being found, despite efforts to deliver to the addressee or his authorized heirs within 10 days after moving. But if the addressee of the insured item has left the postal delivery area at the time the insured item arrives at the post office, and if he knows that the insured item has arrived in his name from the post office or in any other way, he gives a written notice of his desire to take delivery of the insured item within 10 days mentioned in clause (c) to the respective post office. The insurance item will be kept in the post office for another 5 days, if the addressee or his authorized heir does not take delivery within those 5 days, the insurance item will be returned to the sender immediately after the 5 days have been paid.
